Our company history
A fully qualified and registered builder, Mark started his career in the construction industry 30 years ago, which has included building residential homes, log homes, decks and landscaping. He has also been the lead craftsman carpenter in a cruise ship restoration involving ornate mahogany and kauri detailing. Mark is meticulous throughout all of his projects and as the customer, you can be reassured that your project is always completed to the highest standards.
Craftsman Builder
When Mark started his building career, he undertook a mixture of alterations, extensions and new homes, in which a lot of old craftsman skills were learned. This included building wall and roof structures from packs of timber onsite. Earlier in his career, it was common for the builder completed most elements of the build, e.g. all foundation work and for Mark this included floating all floor slabs, foundation excavation work, roofing iron installation and gutters, making door jams, window frames, facing for around windows, which sometimes required fluting design and tongue and groove floor installations.
New Log Home Construction
Mark sees the log homes as probably the most challenging but most rewarding builds he has ever undertaken. They challenge not only the builder, but also the tools and general equipment used throughout the process. This is mainly due to the size and scale of the timber required, but nowhere else has Mark had a greater challenge nor greater reward than knowing you truly built the home by hand.
